The discussion will be moderated by Frances Stevenson, head of HelpAge’s humanitarian team. Through this 1-hour webinar, participants will learn:
• What are the Minimum Standards for Age and Disability Inclusion
• How to use the Minimum Standards
• How the Minimum Standards for Age and Disability Inclusion link with other standards for the humanitarian sector
This is the first in a series of six webinars on age and disability inclusion in humanitarian action that will take place every two months starting in December 2015. The second webinar in February will focus on age and disability inclusion in data collection and needs assessment. Further webinars will focus on specific sectors in humanitarian response, and how the Minimum Standards can be applied in practice. These will cover protection and education; WASH and shelter; health and nutrition, and rehabilitation, camp management, logistics and communication, and food security and livelihoods.
Webinar participants may also be interested in the e-learning modules Understanding Older People and Their Needs in a Humanitarian Context and Basic Principles of Disability Inclusion in Humanitarian Response.
The webinars are held as part of the Age and Disability Capacity (ADCAP) programme, a three-year initiative to strengthen the capacity of humanitarian agencies to deliver age and disability-inclusive emergency response. The ADCAP programme is led by HelpAge International in collaboration with CBM, DisasterReady.org, Handicap International, IFRC, Oxford BrookesUniversity and RedR UK.
